Dear Family, Friends, and Partners,

Greetings from a very, very hot Philippines. I just talked to my parents last night who live up in the mountains, they said it is very hot up there too. They’ve never been that hot before so I guess we are not alone. But the Lord is still good. We praise God for a swimming pool nearby. The kids spend much of their time swimming lately. They love to swim.

LANGUAGE STUDY
Julie is doing great. She has been writing a lot of sentences and stories. Conversation in Tagalog is still a challenge but she is understanding a lot of words now and is using them frequently. In fact, Julie is even correcting me of my usage of words since I only speak and understand simple tagalong. Not understanding and speaking the language is quite frustrating for her but she is making a lot of progress.

MINISTRY
I am still involved with the church planting ministry of the church we go to. It has been hard to find a Bible study contact lately (someone that is interested in studying the Bible at their home). Our ministry is mostly done Sunday afternoons although we will try to extend it on the weekdays. We will have VBS for the kids in our church planting area for three days, this week. They usually have 80 to 100 kids so be praying for the teachers, kids, and for opportunities to minister to the parents.

PRAISES
- We are excited to announce that Julie is pregnant with our third child. We praise God for this gift. The kids are going crazy and are very excited to have another sister or brother. Nhaya always ask us if she can tell anyone about mommy’s baby in her tummy. Caleb wants to have a boy and Nhaya wants to have both. She said she had been praying for a long time and God finally answered her. It is exciting to hear her saying that it was God who gives.
- We praise God for the good health of the whole family. I think our bodies are finally adjusting (except for the heat).
- We also praise God for new friends that we have, they are very good friends.
- We praise God for our family here and abroad who had been great encouragers, friends, and excellent prayer partners.
- And we praise God for our wonderful financial and prayer support. Thank you for partnering with us.

PRAYER REQUEST
- Pray that Julie and the baby will be healthy and safe.
- Pray for the kids as they will be going through another adjustment of having another brother or sister.
- Continue to pray for Julie’s language learning and for my involvement in the church planting ministry.
- We still need to decided where we will go after language school (what team to join), please pray for us as we continue to visit these teams and see where we fit best.
- Nhaya will start school in June. She is going to a local school so we are hoping that she will pick up some of the language. Please pray for this big step. She is very excited since she is so outgoing but just pray that she will be able to make friends and understand.

Again we want to thank you for your continued support in prayer. We praise God that we are being remembered in your prayers. We find comfort in knowing that it is God who brought us here and that He answers our prayers. May you find joy in serving and knowing our Lord Jesus.

In His service,
Gilmer, Julie, Nhaya and Caleb
